We leave the Charles Town in the early afternoon and travel to our Hotel in Port Antonio. On the way to the Hotel, for those who are interested you have the option stop and bamboo raft on the Rio Grande River – this is an idyllic and scenic adventure. From the Blue Lagoon you have the option to visit Monkey Island by boat or bamboo raft. Once you have sampled Portland we say goodbye in the mid-afternoon and journey to Port Royal, Kingston. Capital City Kingston, the heartbeat of Jamaica! Kingston is where Jamaica’s culture is most dynamic and there’s never a dull moment. However, for today’s first Jamaica Discovery included activity we will leave the city behind and venture into the famous coffee-producing Blue Mountains for a coffee experience like no other. The lush hills, fresh air, spectacular views and the “best coffee in the World” will make you want to stay, however, we have to depart for the second Jamaica Discovery included activity, which is a visit to Bob Marley Museum, located at his former residence where you will be immersed in Marley’s unique and inspirational life of “One Love – let’s get together and feel alright”! If you yearn for more Bob Marley, there is the optional Trench Town Culture Yard experience – where Marley grew-up. As well, there is the Tuff Gong Tour of Bob Marley’s Recording Studio. Other options in Kingston are a boat trip to Lime Cay – Kingston’s offshore paradise, 15 minutes from Port Royal, or visit the National Gallery, or take a Dancehall Dance Class. We depart Kingston and drive to St Elizabeth’s picturesque countryside for a taste of the past and present. Today’s Jamaica Discovery included activity is the Appleton Estate Rum Tour – designed to “lift your spirits”. Appleton Estate first distilled rum in 1749. See sugar cane become magically transformed to molasses, then sugar, and finally into Jamaica’s Premium Rums. Sample blends for age, taste and strength, then pick up a bottle (or two) to take home. From Appleton we head to Middle Quarters (famous for peppered shrimp) to experience Jamaican street food for lunch, or you can opt to try the local fast food – Patty – with fillings of chicken, beef, vegetable, shrimp, etc. After lunch we drive to Treasure Beach and check-in at Lashing Boutique Hotel or similar for the next two (2) nights. A great option this evening is to make your own dinner at a Jamaican Cooking Class.

Today you have the option to experience Jamaica Discovery’s most fantastic optional activity – Dolphin Quest, Black River Safari and Pelican Bar – this is a boat ride to search for dolphins and crocodiles in their natural environment. Boat launches from the shores of Treasure Beach and if we are lucky we will see the Treasure Beach Dolphins on their morning swim. We journey to where the Caribbean Sea meets the Black River and cruise upstream to see the Jamaican crocodile and birds native to the Black River and the Great Morass. You will experience how the locals use the river for their livelihood – fishing and shrimping. Once upstream we stop at the Jamaica Discovery spot where you can have a swim in the rejuvenating waters of the Black River. Leaving Black River our next destination is Pelican Bar. PELICAN BAR: picture a mass of driftwood constructed to create a basic structure, covered by a palm leaf thatch roof and supported by stilts, sitting on a sandbar in the middle of the Sea. This quaint island-in-the-sea lounge is like nothing you’ve ever seen. At Pelican Bar, have a drink, swim, sunbathe or just chill and soak up the lazy sun-drenched vibe. Other options to enjoy from Treasure Beach are YS Falls or the Accompong Maroon Village or Lovers Leap, or a Sunset cruise to Pelican Bar, etc.
